clinical social worker in Seattle, Washington. Her psychotherapy practice
specializes in working with families impacted by a loved one's substance use
problem. Lara maintains a private practice and is an experienced instructor,
teaching at the UW in their top-rated MSW program. She is a certified CRAFT
therapist and approved trainer, having been taught directly by Dr. Robert
Meyers.

- Join Dr. Robert Meyers for a
special training in NYC on the Community Reinforcement and Family Training
(CRAFT) approach to helping families identify practical and
highly-effective ways to move their loved one toward treatment, while
simultaneously improving their own lives. During the second half of the
3rd training day, Dr. Andrew Tatarsky and Dr. Jenifer Talley will provide
an introduction to Dr. Tatarsky's integrative harm reduction psychotherapy
(IHRP) model for treating problematic substance use and other addictive

- Dr. Meyers is scheduled to further
develop the CRAFT program in Japan. He will give 2 lectures at
Tokushima University on October 8th & 9th, and then travel to Tokyo
where he will deliver a 3 day CRAFT training for the 2016 Japanese
Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy conference on October
11th, 12th, & 13th.

and 1/2 day CRAFT training at the Parents Translational Research Center at
the Treatment Research Institute in Philadelphia, PA from March 28 - 30,

- Dr. Robert Meyers will
present a 2 and ½ day CRAFT training in San Diego, California, from
2/29/16 to 3/2/16(Monday and Tuesday 9-4, Wednesday 9-12). Class size
limited to 40. Fee is $450. Completion of this training is the first step
toward becoming a certified CRAFT therapist.

- Dr. Meyers will be travelling
to Richmond Virginia for a full CRAFT training sponsored by the
Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, this training
will be held on the 23rd, 24th, & 25th of July.
- Dr. Meyers will give a
plenary talk & a full day seminar on CRAFT at the 8th Annual Georgia
School of Addiction Studies, August 25 – 29, 2014 in Savannah
Georgia.
- Dr. Meyers will travel to
Glasgow, Scotland to hold a full CRAFT training and a one day CRAFT
training for supervisors. These trainings are sponsored by the Scottish
Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs organization. The trainings
will be held on 22nd through the 25th of September.
- Dr. Meyers will conduct a
CRAFT training in Santiago, Chile the first week of November.
- Dr. Meyers will conduct a
CRAFT training for the College Of New Jersey’s School of Social Work later

- Adult and adolescent versions
of the Community Reinforcement Approach are used by over 125 organizations
in 37 states and several other countries. Dr. Meyers will be leading a CRA
training for both adults and adolescents (A-CRA) January 13 – 15, 2014.
This training will be hosted by Chestnut Health Systems in
Bloomington-Normal, Illinois.. Please contact Kelli Wright

- Dr. Meyers will be traveling
to Cardiff Wales to conduct 4 days of training in ACRA and CRAFT on April
22 through the 25th. Hosted by the by Cardiff County Councils and the
Believe in Children Program.
- Dr. Meyers will be presenting
an advanced and an intermediate training in ACRA at Chestnut Health
Service in Bloomington Illinois on May 13th through the 17th.
- On May 24th Dr. Meyers will
be conducting a one day overview of CRAFT at Harvard’s McLean Hospital.
- In June Dr. Meyers will be conducting
a full CRAFT training in Evansville Indiana for Southwest Behavioral
Healthcare Inc. on June `19th , 20th and 21st.
- In July Dr. Meyers will give
the plenary address (The Community Reinforcement and Family Training
(CRAFT): A Science-Based Intervention), for 39th Annual Northwest
Institute of Addictions Studies (NWIAS) Conference in Portland
Oregon. Dr. Meyers will also be giving several in depth
presentations on CRAFT during the three day Conference July 17 through the
19th.
- Dr. Meyers will travel
to Japan to present several CRAFT talks including the keynote address at
the Annual Asian Cognitive Behavioral Conference in Tokyo Japan on August
23rd through August 26th.
- While in Japan Dr. Meyers
will also travel to Tokushima University to conduct three day training in
CRAFT at Aizato Hospital Tokushima on August 28th through August
30th. Participants will be from Otani University as well as
Tokushima University.
- Dr. Meyers will conduct a
full 2.5 day training on the Community Reinforcement and Family Training
(CRAFT) program for the Family Recovery Court in LaPlata, Maryland on the
4th 5th & 6th of February, 2013.
- Dr. Meyers will be training
the Salvation Army addiction staff in the Community Reinforcement Approach
(CRA) in Glasgow Scotland on the 20th 21st & 23rd of February, 2013
- Dr. Meyers will also travel
to Ireland where he will conduct trainings for the Community Misuse
Substance Team of Limerick in Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach
(ACRA), and the Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT)
on February 22 through March 1.
- On March 4th 5th & 6th
Dr. Meyers will be conducting a workshop in the Community Reinforcement
and Family Training (CRAFT) approach for the Bray Ireland Community
Addiction Team.
- On March 17th 18th & 19th
Dr. Meyers will be conducting training for the Youth Addictions Treatment
Centre, Central Health, Newfoundland Canada in the Adolescent Community
Reinforcement Approach (ACRA).
- Dr. Meyers will be returning
to Ireland and Wales in early 2012 for several CRAFT and ACRA trainings.
He will begin his trainings in Cork, Ireland on February 21st through
February 24th for the HSE South Alcohol and Addiction Services, Arbour
House, St. Finbar's Hospital. Dr. Meyers will divide his training
time between ACRA and CRAFT. He will then travel to Galway, Ireland
to hold a 2 day CRAFT training on February 26th and 27th for the Western

- Dr. Meyers will be traveling
to Australia to assist The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre,
University of New South Wales, and Lyndon Community in adapting the
Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) for the project,
Community Reinforcement and Family Training for Rural Aboriginal Families.
Dr. Meyers will be in Australia from April 28th until May 5th.
A 3-day training on the (CRAFT) protocol will be held May 2nd – 4th in
Orange, New South Wales, Australia.
- Supporting Psychological
Interventions Across Scotland, Stirling Management Centre, University of
Stirling, Tuesday 25 - Thursday 27 January 2011
- Dr. Meyers will be returning
to Ireland for 7 days of training for the Blanchardstown Local Drugs Task
Force. Dr. Meyers is scheduled to hold trainings in ACRA, CRA, and
CRAFT from November 29th through December 7th.
- Dr. Meyers will be holding a
2 ½ day CRAFT training
on October 4th, 5th &
6th. This will be his last CRAFT training for 2010. The training
will be held at Chestnut Health Services Training Center in Bloomington
Illinois. Final details will be announced soon on both this website and
the Chestnut Health Services website. Participants will be limited and
all participants will receive signed copies of his book “Get your loved One
Sober.”
- In March of 2010, Dr. Meyers
will be conducting 3 trainings in the United Kingdom. Dr. Meyers
will begin his training with 2 days of training on Adolescent Community
Reinforcement (A-CRA) in Cardiff Wales for the Strengthening Families
Programme on March 9th, 10th and on March 11th
there will be short refresher class on CRAFT.
Next Dr. Meyers will travel to Newcastle upon Tyne England to
present 2 ½ days of training on the Community Reinforcement and Family Training
(CRAFT) March 16th, 17th, and on the 18th for partnerships in the North East of
England.
The last training of his trip will
take place in Dublin, Ireland with four days of training, 2 days on the
Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) and two days on the
Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA). This training will be held on March 22nd,
23rd, 24th & 25th for the Blanchardstown Local Drug
Task Force. I am happy and sad to say that his workshop is filled; we
will not be able to handle any additional participants.
- Dr. Meyers will be the Keynote speaker for the Northwest
Regional Conference sponsored by The College of Southern Idaho Health
& Human Services Department on April 16th 2010. Dr. Meyers will be
giving a second training; both presentations will be on the Community
Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) program.
- Dr. Meyers will be presenting a full day of training on
Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) for Thedacare
Behavioral Health in Way Neenah, Wisconsin on June 11th 2010. 6 Hours of
continuing education credits (CEUs) will be awarded to all participants.
- Dr. Meyers will be holding 3
day training in Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) at
Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom on September 9th, 10th and 11th.
- Dr. Meyers will be presenting a Plenary address titled
"History and Effectiveness of the Community Reinforcement
Approach", on the morning of September 16th during the 2nd Annual
German Congress on Addictions being held in Cologne Germany from September
16 to 19, 2009. In addition Dr. Meyers will be holding a one day training
on "Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) as a

- The Center for Motivation and Change
(www.motivationandchange.com) in NYC is holding a 10-part
training series called Evidence-Based Approaches in Addiction Treatment on
Thursday evenings, 7:30-9:00 pm, from March 12 through May 21 (with no
session on April 9). CE credits for OASAS and NASW are provided, and the
instructors, Jeff Foote, PhD and Nicole Kosanke, PhD, have been working in
the field of addictions for more than 20 years. The course is
designed as didactic AND experiential, with role-playing and
application of techniques to real-world cases. Curriculum includes: principles
of Evidence-Based Treatments; Motivation Approaches; Cognitive Behavioral
Approaches; CRAFT; Dialectical Behavior Therapy; and Pharmacotherapies.
Cost for the training is $95 per session and $65 for students. To get more
